My name is Stephen Monroe. I'm an ecological landscape designer, born and raised in Tucson, Arizona. Upon graduating with a degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Arizona, I narrowly escaped the clutches of Big Tech and fled to the tropics, where I established a Permaculture farm in the highlands of northern Nicaragua. Through careful land management - including pasture rotation, the creation of millions of gallons of water storage and the planting of over 30,000 trees - this former run-down cattle farm now produces an abundance of meat, milk, eggs, honey and over 150 different types of tropical fruit.

Since returning to the Sonoran Desert, I founded "The Rain Harvester," bootstrapping my on-the-farm education in Permaculture and my background in systems design to help my clients create abundant, regenerative landscapes at all scales - whether tiny backyards in the city, or large acre properties in the country.

Additionally, I am an avid natural builder, a wild foods forager, an artist in various media, a devoted husband and a proud father.
